Below is a summary of requirements that are necessary for ensuring that your supervision hours are BACB approved, and therefore can actually be used towards earning certification.

BCBAs qualified to give supervision must be approved by the BACB, as evident by having their credentials displayed through the "Certificant Registry" on the BACB website.
Before earning supervision hours, supervisees must 1) Be currently enrolled in BACB approved coursework, and 2) Register as a supervisee with the BACB and pass the BACB online module pertaining to the requirements of supervision.
The supervisee must work at least 10 hours per week in the capacity of a behavior analyst (and no more than 30 hours per week) for their experience to count towards supervision.
Approved activities that qualify for supervision include (but are not limited to): behavior assessments (e.g., FBAs, staff performance, skill-based assessments); developing/monitoring/implementing behavior-based programs and protocols; training behaviorally-based procedures; and any other activity approved by the BCBA.
Out of the above approved activities, working directly with clients (i.e., implementing programs and procedures) can count towards 50% of all supervision hours earned.
A supervision contract must be signed prior to supervision.
Documentation of supervision experience and supervision appointments, which must include such information as the date, duration, and total hours earned of each supervision appointment; whether the appointment was individual or group supervision; feedback regarding the supervisees performance; total experience hours earned from supervised period; date and signature lines of the supervisee and the supervisor.
